ISO 17025 vs factory calibration

Updated 19 Aug 20261 min read

A calibration certificate documents how an instrument measured against a reference. Which kind you need depends on your quality system.

Factory calibration

A factory or manufacturer calibration confirms the instrument meets its specification. It is enough for most development and service work.

ISO 17025 accredited calibration

An accredited lab adds measurement uncertainty and traceability to national standards. Audited production and test labs usually require it; ask the seller for one when you request a quote.
